And he barely recognizes his old place, which is an easy bicycle ride away, or a two-bus trip. “My mother has a very different style,” he said. “All shades of pink are welcome.” The past couple of years have brought changes for Aronson. The new archiving job he’d hoped for never materialized. Now, he says, “My enthusiasm for the music business has dimmed.” In September 2017, Aronson and his wife, Jamie, sold their house, bought a trailer, and drove nearly 650 miles to Humboldt County, on the Northern California coast. Today they live in the trailer, in a campground near a state park. Jamie works in the health care industry. For a while, Aronson worked as a security guard in a shopping mall. He recently started a new job as a project coordinator at a nonprofit that serves low-income residents of Humboldt.
The Trump campaign didn’t coordinate with the Russian government. But the two talked a lot. ITunes is being split into Music, Podcast and TV apps, the latest part of Apple’s push to compete on services with the likes of Spotify and Netflix. Its Watch will get a dedicated App Store, so people won’t need an iPhone to use one. And a new universal authentication tool promises more secure logins, not limited to Apple platforms.
As I learn more and more each day, I am coming to the conclusion that what is taking place is not an impeachment, it is a COUP, intended to take away the Power of the People, their VOTE, their Freedoms, their Second Amendment, Religion, Military, Border Wall, and their God-given rights as a Citizen of The United States of America! It’s not just sex toy companies that get the cold shoulder; it’s also sex education companies. Stripe has turned away the company For Goodness Sake, which operates a website, OMGyes, for education on women’s pleasure. While Stripe says on its website that it wanted to do business with the company, it also said its financial partners were not comfortable with the arrangement. O.school, another online sex education platform, which reaches a diverse population and has a majority female user base, was, according to its founder, denied a bank account by two premier banks in Silicon Valley.
Deep beneath the ocean waves lurks a creature so cute it's been compared to the big-eared flying elephant from Walt Disney's 1941 classic "Dumbo." “No wonder your mother won’t get you a phone,” Nani says, dumping the remote on the couch. “Let’s go to Cocowalk. See a movie properly. Like we used to do before you became a homebody.”
Last week, Facebook said that it will continue to exempt politicians from its third-party fact-checking process because their speech is considered newsworthy content. But not everyone is a fan of this rule, including some of Facebook's former employees. And here’s our latest dispatch from South Bend.
I’ll never forget that moment. He opened the car door and took the car seat out. L.G.B.T. rights became a topic of public debate this year when Mr. Trzaskowski, the Warsaw mayor, who is from the centrist opposition party Civic Platform, issued a rights declaration setting out the city’s commitment to try to help find shelter for gay youths rejected by their parents. He also promised to incorporate World Health Organization guidelines on sex and tolerance education into Warsaw’s school system.
To the Editor: On Thursday, the Supreme Court stopped the Census Bureau, at least for now, from asking residents whether they are American citizens. The court called the Trump administration’s justification for the question “contrived” but left open the possibility that the question could be added in the future.
Horwitz has taken the same path to explore today’s great divide(s). Race is one and he explores that, but he is equally interested in the political divide. These divisions, of course, extend far beyond the South, but in the South they tend to be less hidden. The book is timely, though he started it when no one imagined a Trump presidency. Leaving aside living organisms, I’d be game for slow-cooker chicken tacos on Saturday night, flavored with chipotle and honey. Though if you’d prefer flank steak teriyaki, I could manage that instead.
